Animal Cruelty: Poultry
Chickens
-They're fed hormones so that they grow quickly, but often grow too quickly so they are either too fat to move or die of a heart attack because their hearts are unable to support them
-They often die from starvation because they are unable to move to get to the food. They also die from stress or crampness. They are often living in such cramped quarters that they are living in their own manure alongside chickens who have died.

Hens
-They are also fed growth hormones that cause them to grow far too quickly, causing many of them to die.
-They are stuffed into such cramped places that they cant even lift a wing, and because they may fight, they have their beaks seared off with a hot blade. Their beaks are filled with many nerve endings, so they feel the intense pain of this.
-Male chicks of the breeder hens are unable to lay eggs are were not bred to produce excessive flesh for the meat industry, so they are killed. Every year, more than 100 million male chicks are ground up alive or suffocated by being tossed into bags.

Turkeys
-They are also genetically modified to gain weight rapidly.
-Farmers kill sick and injured turkeys by beating them with a metal rod and tossing them aside to suffer and die.
-Their throats are slit while they're still conscious, so they feel themselves dying.
