Animal Cruelty: Pigs
Piglets
-Baby pigs have their ears mutilated, the ends of their teeth chopped off, their tails cut off, and they are castrated all while squealing in pain.
-Piglets who aren't growing quickly enough from the growth hormone are killed by having their heads slammed against a concrete floor.
-Piglets often grow so quickly because of the hormones they're fed that they are unable to walk normally.

Pigs
-The first time most pigs breathe fresh air is on the back of a truck headed to the slaughterhouse.
-Many pigs go insane from lack of stimulation in the factory farms. They aren't given enough room to turn around in or lay down comfortably.
-If they're sick, but can still make it to the slaughterhouse, they are not cured or put out of their misery. If they cant survive to the slaughterhouse, they're shot instead.
-According to industry figures, 400,000 pigs arrive at the slaughter house not being able to walk, and 100,000 arrive dead. The real numbers are probably much higher, but the industry wont report it.
-At the slaughter house, pigs often have their throats slit while still conscious, or are burned alive in a scalding tank used for hair removal and to make their skin softer.
