The authors explain how chickens are some of the most abused animals, considering there are no laws against their abuse. They explain how the chickens are raised and exploited their entire lives, and how it all ends at the slaughterhouse.

Cohen explains that animal don’t have any rights and that we should be allowed to use them for testing. He argues that even if animals were sentient beings, we are still able to test on them. He does make the exception that even though animals have no rights, we as humans still have obligations to treat them well.
